About Us

Amigos de Fuente Nueva (AFN) is Fuente Nueva Charter School’s Parent-Teacher Organization.  The role of AFN is to help support Fuente Nueva's mission to empower students to become engaged world citizens through a challenging and creative Spanish immersion program that emphasizes academic excellence, the arts, community involvement, and social responsibility.

Money raised through AFN funds enrichment activities, multicultural assemblies and programs, field trips, teacher's stipends, technology for the classrooms, campus enhancements,  after school clubs and much more!

Due to other funding streams available to the school related to Covid, our focus for the '22-'23 school year was to support teachers and staff through funds for classroom supplies and activities and to prioritize events that brought the Fuente community together.  We netted just over $20,000 and 88% of
AFN support funds went to teacher support, school events and field trips.

AFN’s success over the years is due to the commitment and effort of all our families at Fuente Nueva.

As the natural progression is to leave Fuente when a student is ready for a higher education, AFN needs new members to join every year.  AFN plans half a dozen or more events every year, and we couldn't do it with out a dedicated core group of board members.  While helping out at the last minute with setting up is invaluable for any one of our events, helping to organize them is fundamental and undeniably necessary.

Please consider joining us for our monthly meeting, or email us at amigos@fuentenueva.org with a note about yourself and how you see yourself engaging with AFN.

Our regular meetings are open to all and are generally held on the first Tuesday of each  month, starting at 5:30 pm, on Zoom.  Please email amigos@fuentenueva.org for the zoom link to attend, or check your weekly teacher newsletter.
